Cyd’s Cookies have always been front + center as they are how the business actually started! Well before the shop front was, Cyd baked cookies bright + early every morning at Bagels + More in the Metro Center. She then delivered them to assorted Peoria businesses. It was on a trip to Peoria Heights that she noticed a rent sign in the window of a shop on Prospect Road. That is where Cyd’s Sensational was born in 1988. With an opening crew of three people, they started with great sandwiches [many of the same ones we still offer today] made on homemade bread with house baked turkey breasts, chicken salads + other tasty combinations, as well as other made-from-scratch take out + bakery items. Years, passed, staff size increased, sales went up + the business evolved as a take out shop + added an eat-in cafe. Today Cyd’s is the work place for nearly forty employees- front staff, catering staff + kitchen staff.
